I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!

Dave and I have been OFFICIALLY engaged for just over a week now!!! On our 1 year anniversary I came home from seeing my mom in Grand Rapids to Dave acting strange. I had an inkling that he was going to propose on our anniversary, just woman's intuition I guess. Then as I was putting things away he asked me if he could hang up a jacket of mine, I didn't care, he didn't have to ask in the first place. But, I just shook it off. Then I was sitting on the couch as he was out on the porch finishing smoking a cigarette, complaining about how hot my feet were, when he asked if I wanted to come out there. Well, sure, seeing as I did have hot feet, what better way to kill the gross sweat, then stand barefoot on a balcony in the middle of December in Michigan? Then as I was leaning on the rail talking (which I do a lot) I saw something out of the corner of my eye, it was Dave kneeling down!!!! AHH!!!! With him having a broken rib and 3 cracked ones, he was in a little pain!
Then being the smart ass that he is, he asked me to marry him and put his class ring on my finger, I squeaked out a laugh and asked if he was serious. I could see that he was, so I felt a little bad. Then he looked at my finger and said, "Oh damn, wrong pocket, hold on." Then he pulled out my ENGAGEMENT RING AND REALLY FOR REAL ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM!!!! AHHH!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
It is SO pretty!!! It is a sterling silver custom made band, with 2 clear, conflict free diamonds on either side of a clear conflict free blue diamond. The blue diamond was one that his late uncle gave to his aunt when he got back from Vietnam. The sentimental value that it has makes it the biggest ring that I ever could dream of having!!! I am astounded by it. When he first put it on my finger and looking at it in the light of the decorations on the balcony, I thought it was an emerald, but then when I got in the apartment and looked at it, it is as blue as day! I love it SO much!!!
What better way to celebrate our 1 year anniversary AND his 26 birthday?! Now we have the task of picking the wedding. I thought that we wanted to have it in Vegas, but I REALLY would like one back here, to have my family all together and not have to worry about his elderly great-grandparents and grandparents and my Nan getting on a plane and flying anywhere...oh I don't know. There are so many decisions to be made!!!
But for now, all I am going to do is sit back and admire the shine of my new RING!!! LOVE ITT!!!!
