Why are some decisions so hard?

Things are SO difficult. I hate it. Decisions are so hard. I love him. There is another guy. I like him. After all this time what do I do?

Austin...

Texas has been an experience. I am so glad that we moved here. I truly am. We recently got an apartment in North Austin...a beautiful town..amazing.
We just got jobs and are now starting to work and make some money (it's about damn time) The pets are doing good. Boomer is Boomer, at times we want to lock him in his room for the rest of his life and then he can be a saint. We had a problem with him about 2 weeks ago where he wanted to throw dominance and growl at Dave and I, so he was put on the porch for about a week...he learned his lesson, add to it he was shedding BAD because of the heat and adjusting to it, so he was able to be out in the air and loose the hair into the air rather than our carpet. Dave said that it would be best for him to be out until he wanted in, and it did take about the week for him to want to come back inside and even now he still wants to go out on the porch and play, so in the end it was a win win for all of us.

WE MADE IT!!!!

After all the talk and all the strain. WE MADE IT TO TEXAS!!!! Things with Dallas were not working out the way that they were supposed to. It seemed like no matter what we tried nothing EVER worked out. So just as we were about to throw in the towel and beg and gravel for our jobs back on Mackinac Island, we through into a search engine Texas Security Training Firms and then we found this school in Round Rock, which is about 20 minutes north of Austin.
Then Dave talked to the school and was personally talking to a trainer who was more than willing to help out and talk to us about what we needed and where there was to stay and the storage units that we could use. Then he told Dave that if there was anything that I needed that he would talk to me and then I got on the phone with him and talked to him for about 45 minutes.
Everything just worked out. For a while we are staying in an Extended Stay Hotel. It's not the Ritz or anything, but it is nice and it's somewhere to be.

So for now I am going to sit back and relax and enjoy the weather...I did just drive 21 hours! EEK!!!!

I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!

Dave and I have been OFFICIALLY engaged for just over a week now!!! On our 1 year anniversary I came home from seeing my mom in Grand Rapids to Dave acting strange. I had an inkling that he was going to propose on our anniversary, just woman's intuition I guess. Then as I was putting things away he asked me if he could hang up a jacket of mine, I didn't care, he didn't have to ask in the first place. But, I just shook it off. Then I was sitting on the couch as he was out on the porch finishing smoking a cigarette, complaining about how hot my feet were, when he asked if I wanted to come out there. Well, sure, seeing as I did have hot feet, what better way to kill the gross sweat, then stand barefoot on a balcony in the middle of December in Michigan? Then as I was leaning on the rail talking (which I do a lot) I saw something out of the corner of my eye, it was Dave kneeling down!!!! AHH!!!! With him having a broken rib and 3 cracked ones, he was in a little pain!
Then being the smart ass that he is, he asked me to marry him and put his class ring on my finger, I squeaked out a laugh and asked if he was serious. I could see that he was, so I felt a little bad. Then he looked at my finger and said, "Oh damn, wrong pocket, hold on." Then he pulled out my ENGAGEMENT RING AND REALLY FOR REAL ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM!!!! AHHH!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
It is SO pretty!!! It is a sterling silver custom made band, with 2 clear, conflict free diamonds on either side of a clear conflict free blue diamond. The blue diamond was one that his late uncle gave to his aunt when he got back from Vietnam. The sentimental value that it has makes it the biggest ring that I ever could dream of having!!! I am astounded by it. When he first put it on my finger and looking at it in the light of the decorations on the balcony, I thought it was an emerald, but then when I got in the apartment and looked at it, it is as blue as day! I love it SO much!!!
What better way to celebrate our 1 year anniversary AND his 26 birthday?! Now we have the task of picking the wedding. I thought that we wanted to have it in Vegas, but I REALLY would like one back here, to have my family all together and not have to worry about his elderly great-grandparents and grandparents and my Nan getting on a plane and flying anywhere...oh I don't know. There are so many decisions to be made!!!
But for now, all I am going to do is sit back and admire the shine of my new RING!!! LOVE ITT!!!!

*sigh*

I don't know what is going on. It's too early in the season to be getting the "winter blas".
We got home from the Island about a week ago. Yes the house is still a mess from moving back and what not. Boomer has been being a royal pain in the ass since we got home. He won't pee outside. In fact he isn't peeing at all. He may squirt a little dabble all over the carpet if he gets too excited or if you have him over by the door and you are hooking him up to his leash to take him out. But if you take him outside he will not pee. I don't understand what it is. He is drinking a lot of water, but he won't pee. He poops just fine. And whenever Dave takes him out he completely forgets how to walk on his leash. He will throw himself into the air and make a complete spectacle of it. He throws the biggest temper tantrums E.V.E.R. When he is in the apartment, he will cower and tuck his tail in between his legs and sulk in his room if you even look at him in the wrong way. I don't know if he is scared of his new surroundings or what it is, he was here before and didn't have this problem at all. He was around LaVerne and didn't have a problem with her. Maybe he's jealous of the attention that the cat is getting...I don't know what it is, but what I do know is that Dave and I don't have the money to call in the Dog Whisperer or take him to Obedience Classes.

That is all for tonight. I have a throbbing headache and I can't stand the internet right now, more is to come tomorrow.

HOME!!!!!

WE ARE HOME FROM MACKINAC ISLAND!!!!
Oh sweet Lord of Lords was it a long season. You wouldn't think that May to October would be a long 5 months, but when you are trapped on an island with only a ferry to escape, it's a LONG TIME.
But we are home. We got home just in time to spend my Great Grandpas 88th birthday with him, also, we are home just in time to get all settled in and ring in my 24th birthday on 11-4! Dave says that if I am having a hard time with turning 24, then 25 is going to be a FUN year.
So now that we are home, we had planned on taking a few days where we just relax and do nothing until we get settled, well, that really hasn't been the case. We had things that we did yesterday, and today we went to get my medicine and see Grandpa. Tomorrow though, is another story. There isn't anything on the agenda, and Saturday Dave's aunt is going to come over and spend some time with us, then on Sunday we are going down to my moms house for a family dinner. Talk about hitting the ground running.
Dave keeps telling me that he has a road trip planned for us and I have a surprise coming...I wonder what that is? ;) Yes, we are engaged, but he hasn't done the whole get down on one knee with the ring thing yet....sooo, maybe some ring pictures are to come!!!
Well, my roast is smelling amazing, so I need to go check on it!
Until next time!!!

Island Life...

This is my third summer on Mackinac Island. Well, technically it's my forth, but I don't count the first one since I was here for a week and went home. So, it's my third. I am with the same company that I have been with since I got up here. Ryba's Fudge Shops.
In a nut shell, I work for Satan and I live in the bowels of hell. I hate it. So much. After last season I said that I wasn't going to come back. I had no intentions of it whatsoever. Then I got my contract in the mail this past winter and thought "what the hell, it's a job, it's better than doing nothing and my unemployment is going to run out around the time that they want me to come back". So I emailed the HR guy and asked him for better housing, said that I couldn't get it. So, I am in a dorm style house with a bunch of girls who seem to be getting younger and younger year after year. Luckily I have an awesome roommate. I knew her last summer, and when she got asked back she asked me if I was going back and we decided that we wanted to live together and not run the risk of getting a psycho roommate or anything like that.
So I sent my contract back in and waited for May 6 to get here.
It got here and I didn't want to leave. But Dave and I packed my car and we drove up here. And then I had to leave him. Got over here and settled in and got my work schedule for the week and started working. Then Dave came up on the 12...so not even a week after me, and it's is SO nice to have him here...to be able to see him instead of having to Skype him..it's such a relief.
But I think I have out grown this place. I am here for my third summer with this company and I am dealing with drunken girls who don't know how to handle their booze..a house mom who has curfews in place...I'm not 19, I don't need someone telling me what I can and can't do. I got a raise though. It's was .25. Yes, a QUARTER. A quarter after 3 years of being with these people...I hate it. We have too many girls working here, I'm not getting the hours I should be getting, it's just a pain in the ass. I miss home. I miss my apartment, I miss my cat, my dog, my life back in my apartment with Dave. He even misses it too.
I talked to my mom last night and she said that she was surprised that I even came up here. It's not like I am going to quit tomorrow or anything, I just need to go in and talk to my manager and see if there are going to fire and of the girls...if we are going to get more hours...and explain to her how I am feeling about it all and see where I go from there.
Growing up isn't at all what you would have thought it would be. The decisions you have to make are some of the hardest ever, and not knowing if they are the right ones makes it even worse. Ugh.
